    Just the placement of words and the picture looks like a (very appealing) book cover. Plus, I love this phrase, "The land and."

  2. Actually, I do wonder quite a bit what the cover of the book will be. I'm not sure how much say I will have in the overall design, but I do hope to have at least soem influence.

    And we are very much in sync here, Hannah. The phrase "The land and" is exactly what made this particular page so appealing to me. I think the image and the text work together almost perfectly. This is one of my favorites so far.

  3. I also really, really love this one. The intricate detail is just so on and the changes between the sections just work so well. This is the sort of thing that inspires me to stay up late playing with paint markers.

  4. Ha, it is so funny you would share this comment Aaron, since this illustration was hugely inspired by your most recent painting. The one you're "hanging on to" for a while. That piece blew me away and I stared at it many many times. I probably should dedicate this one to you, and I truly hope the circle of inspiration comes back to you so you do stay up late more often playing with paint markers!
